How do I secure a date?
A 50% deposit holds the vessel for your dates. The remaining balance is due no later than 30 days before departure. Bookings made inside thirty days are payable in full.
Is the deposit refundable?
No. The deposit is non-refundable in the event of guest cancellation at any time. Guests may nominate a replacement person to take their place.
How do I make a reservation?
Message us on WhatsApp with your preferred dates and group size. We confirm availability and send the exact package rate, usually the same day.
How far ahead should I book?
July to September is peak season and the vessel fills earliest — book well ahead for those months. March to June and October to December are usually easier.
Is the rate per person or per group?
Per group. A private charter rate covers the whole vessel for the tier your group size falls into — 1–10, 11–20 or 21–30 guests. It is a package price, not a nightly rate.
What is included in the charter?
Accommodation on board, all meals, mineral water, coffee and tea, a professional guide, snorkelling equipment and life vests, premium drone and camera documentation, plus hotel or airport transfers within Labuan Bajo mainland.
What is not included?
Flight tickets, Komodo National Park entrance fees, drone permit fees, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, personal snacks and expenses, and crew gratuities.
What if my group is larger than 30?
An additional per-person rate applies on top of the 21–30 tier: USD 300 per person on 2D1N, USD 350 on 3D2N and USD 400 on 4D3N.
Are the prices fixed?
Rates are quoted in USD and are subject to change in line with prevailing government regulations. The rate confirmed on your booking is the rate you pay.
How many cabins are there?
Sixteen, across four categories: eight Superior, four VVIP, two Family and two Extra. Total capacity is 32 to 44 guests depending on configuration.
Are all cabins air-conditioned?
Yes. Every cabin has air conditioning and its own private bathroom. Fourteen of the sixteen have a sea view; the two Extra cabins are lit by a porthole.
What are the meals like?
All meals are prepared on board and served in the open-air dining area at the bow. Mineral water, coffee and tea are available throughout the voyage.
What facilities are on board?
An open-air jacuzzi, a sundeck, an outdoor dining area, a chill space and a dive centre. Snorkelling equipment and life vests are provided for every guest.
Do you photograph the trip?
Yes. A documentation crew with drone, GoPro and mirrorless cameras sails with you, and the raw footage is handed over on board. Drone permits require seven days notice.
Where does Ocean Angel sail?
Komodo National Park, departing and returning to Labuan Bajo on Flores. Depending on the length of the voyage she reaches between six and thirteen anchorages.
How long are the trips?
Three lengths: 2 days 1 night, 3 days 2 nights, and 4 days 3 nights. Longer routes keep the stops of the shorter ones and add to them.
When is the best time to sail?
March through December. January and February are the wet season, when crossings are less reliable and we do not sail.
How difficult is the trekking?
Moderate. Padar is the hardest climb at roughly forty minutes of steep steps; Kelor takes about an hour. Both are optional, and trekking sandals or shoes with grip are recommended.
Where can I see Komodo dragons?
Komodo Island and Rinca Island. Padar, despite being inside the park, has no dragon population. A ranger accompanies every trek.
Do I pay National Park fees separately?
Yes. Komodo National Park entrance fees are set by the authorities and paid separately from the charter rate.
